I gut stuck in Chicago tonight, after extended trials at the hands of United Airlines.  One of the de-icing trucks broke down behind our plane and had to be towed for goodness sake!  Apart from the obnoxious customer service staff at O’hare, however, I have enjoyed my stay. I walked around down town for as long as I could stand the cold.  There are more musicians on the streets and in the subway here.  Maybe just coincidence.  I wish DC allowed musicians on the subways, or at least not just the college students and skeazy guys who apply for the permits.  My city doesnt have clarinetists and tap dancers.  There are more suits and sneers on Metro at rush hour than there are on the L.  Sometimes I wonder how much I really like DC.
